F1 - Williams offer fans a special experience

On 21 October 2012, F1 fans will be able to take a special behind the scenes tour of the Williams F1 factory in Grove, Oxfordshire.

Guests will be given an exclusive viewing of the Williams Grand Prix Collection, the largest of its kind in the world, as well as a tour of the factory.  Highlights include:

  • Tour of the machine shop, race bays and engineering facilities.
  • Video link welcome from Sir Frank Williams.
  • Q&A session with Mike Coughlin - technical director.
  • Virtual tour from the Williams F1 team conference centre.
  • Opportunity to enter a raffle, with the chance of winning a full hospitality package for two at a Williams conference centre race day

Tickets cost £70 per person and 50% of the proceeds will go to the team's supported charities, which include the Spinal Injuries Association, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Motorsport Foundation.

This offer comes as part of Williams support for National Motorsports week jointly promoted by the MSA (Motor Sports Association) and MIA (Motorsport Industry Association) - more details of which can be found here.

Sir Frank Williams said, "The MIA does a fantastic job and when we were approached to host a fan day we were delighted to accept.  The Williams F1 ethos has always been to try and bring the world of F1 closer to fans and this is the perfect opportunity to give them a look behind the scenes and learn about the effort that goes into putting our cars on the track.  I am sure that the lucky 200 fans that will join us in October will have a fun and informative day."
