Ford are trying to go upmarket with new Vignale sub-brand

This is the Ford Mondeo Vignale, which is based on the next generation Mondeo and will be shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Ford want to offer even more luxury than the massively luxurious Titanium X spec, which accounts for half of all Mondeo sales in most markets.  The Vignale is an attempt at making more money providing buyers with a premium brand within the Ford umbrella.

As well as the lovely shade of shit brown the exterior features chrome adornments on the front grille, foglight surrounds, mirrors and side panel inserts.  Everybody hates loves chrome.

Nubuck quilted leather abounds around the interior, which is rather nice.

Vignale was an Italian coachbuilder which was bought by DeTomaso in 1969.  Ford bought DeTomaso and still own the Vignale name.

Ford might also apply the Vignale name to other models, such as the Kuga, S-Max and Galaxy.
