US vs UK vs Germany - who's got the best V8 exhaust sound?

In the battle of the V8s the Americans used to have us Europeans licked.  But with the advent of Jaguar's fantastic supercharged 4.2 V8 and the 6.3 AMG V8 from Mercedes the scene is set.  Which sounds best, American, Brit or German metal?
