Vauxhall/Opel ADAM rally car

Vauxhall/Opel's new ADAM gets a butch makeover in the form of this rally version.   Emanating from Opel's base in Rüsselsheim, Germany the ADAM rally car will be created to race in the ADAC Rally Masters Championship.

The ADAM will be specified to FIA R2 standards and will race in a branded ADAC Opel Rally Cup in 2013 with cash prizes available to the top drivers.  There is also a Junior Rally points system for drivers younger than 27 years.

The championship will last until at least 2016 whereupon the most talented drivers will be supported and taken forward by Opel to the international rally arena where they will initially run an ADAM then progress to a next generation Corsa rally car.

No further details are forthcoming but we can look to Ford's existing Fiesta R2 spec car for some information.  The Fiesta R2 has a 170bhp engine and a 5 speed sequential gearbox.  M-sport who make the Fiesta R2 charge £43,000 plus tax to create one from scratch.
