Official - 2013 Porsche Cayman images and specs

Porsche have just unveiled the new, 2013 Porsche Cayman at the LA Auto Show.  The 3rd generation Cayman is lower, lighter and faster than it's forebears; with a longer wheelbase, wider track and larger wheels.

The new Cayman is 30kg lighter and consumes 15% less fuel than the previous model despite huger engine performance.

Two versions of the Cayman are available, the standard car and the Cayman S.  The Cayman gets a 2.7 litre flat 6 engine with 275bhp.  It accelerates from 0-62mph in 5.4 seconds and has a top speed of 165mph.  The Cayman S has a 3.4 litre flat 6 engine and does 0-62mph in 4.7 seconds.  Top speed of the S is 175mph.

Both models are equipped with 6 speed manual gearboxes.  The 7 speed Porsche PDK semi-auto is optional.  Adaptive Cruise Control is available for the first time as is keyless entry.

The Cayman will be launched in Europe on 2 March 2013.  German prices have been set at €51,385 (£41,513) for the Cayman and €64,118 (£51,800)for the Cayman S.
